Dubberly Honored
The University of Montevallo had honors bestowed upon four of their baseball players by the American Baseball Coaches Association and one of them is Helena's own Austin Dubberly. He was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II Pre-Season All-American Team! Also:
"Dubberly was named Second Team All-Region by the ABCA, Third Team All-Region by the NCBWA and First Team All-Peach Belt Conference at the end of the 2011 season. He hit .352 with 27 runs scored, nine doubles and 25 RBI. He had a .409 slugging percentage and a .401 on-base percentage. He was 5-of-7 in stolen bases and won the UM Gold Glove Award at the end of the season. He was one of the top hitting second baseman in the region and was also a standout in the field". He also was a Bronze Scholar on the PBC Presidential Honor Roll last year so he is smart and talented.  If he looks familiar that is because his Dad is the famous Mike Dubberly at Fox Sports. Beverly Taylor wrote an article that included a young Helenite. Here's what she said:

"Volunteers finished painting a mural on a building in North Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala., on Jan. 16, 2012. This was part of the National Day of Service to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Eight-year-old Kibryn Sawtelle of Helena works on flowers".

Helena Warehouse Racetrack
