Calling all barbecue masters for the Shelby County Best BBQ Cook Off
The 3rd Annual Shelby County Best BBQ Cook Off is less than a month away and organizers are calling for the best pit masters to show off their 'cue!
The deadline to enter is March 30 and you can download an entry form by clicking here.
The main event kicks off Friday, April 5 in downtown Columbiana. Set up and judging happen earlier in the day but the public is welcome for tasting from 4-7 p.m.
Admission for the tasting in $10 and kids 10 and under are free with an adult. All proceeds will benefit the Shelby County Arts Council and the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to some great food, there will be live music, an artists' market and a car show.
Awards will be given for:
Best Overall Ribs and Sauce
Best Ribs
Best Sauce
Chef's Speciality dish
People's Choice Award (presented at 6:30 p.m.)
