Today is the day to celebrate mathematics and enjoy some pie. I some piemakers in Helena so see what was on special for Pi Day:

Leland Presley (Helena Publix): We have key lime, mango key lime, toasted coconut cream. and strawberry kiwi.
Kay at Home Plate Cooking: 1915 Highway 58 have Cream PIE flavors are Chocolate, Lemon Icebox, Banana Pudding, Coconut, Peanut Butter, Oreo, Key Lime Fried PIE flavors are Apple, Peach, Blackberry, Pecan. Additional PIE flavors are Pecan, French Coconut but order ahead from her because they go fast 621-6502

Tennis Team
Congrats to the Helena middle school tennis team. Both boys and girls played Briarwood yesterday. The boys won 7-2 and the girls also won 7-2. They have a perfect 3-0 on the season.

A Brother's Love
A great story by Neal Wagner about Helena's Nathan Dahlen. He lost his sister after a vehicle struck her while backing out. He want to help the community with an event to shows the dangers of blind spots while backing out. "The event will be held at the Pelham YMCA’s soccer fields at 2610 Pelham Parkway from 9 a.m.-noon, and will include demonstrations to show drivers the potential dangers of blind spots, which can extend as far as 50 feet behind vehicles". "In addition to the visual vehicle safety demonstrations, the event will also feature candy, balloons and games for kids, scavenger hunts and door prizes".Full Article

Daniel Johns
Several people still wanted to help the Johns family after they lost everything. They had a house fire and they were not insured. His daughter Linda said they have set up an account at  M&F Bank in Pelham.

-Unlawful possession of "maryjane" and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia from County Road 91 (highway, street). Recovered were "maryjane" valued at $5 and a glass pipe containing "maryjane" residue valued at $5.

Feb. 26
-Identity theft from an unknown location (other, unknown).
-Driving under the influence from County Road 17 at CVS (highway, street).
-Warrant arrest from the Hoover City Jail (jail, prison).
-Theft of property third degree from Morningside Drive (residence, home). Stolen was $280 in U.S. currency.
-Harassing communications from the 2600 block of Hawthorn Lake Road (residence, home).

Feb. 27
-Failure to appear from First Avenue West at Ninth Street Northwest (highway, street).

Feb. 28
-Criminal conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime from the 2300 block of Helena Road (drug store). Recovered were prescription notes valued at $5.

March 1
-Failure to appear from the 800 block of Highway 52 East (jail, prison).
-Unlawful possession of prescription drugs from County Road 52 West at County Road 13 (highway, street). Recovered were a prescription tablet.
-Driving under the influence and giving false name to law enforcement from the 9400 block of Brook Forest Circle (highway, street).
-Theft of property third degree and trespass warning third degree from Walgreens (drug store). Stolen and recovered were razor blades valued at $14.99.
-Failure to appear from the Pelham Police Department (government, public building).

March 2
-Unlawful possession of prescription drugs from Helena Road (highway, street). Recovered was a metal container with five unknown capsules inside.

March 3
-Information only – brush fire from Old Cahaba Cove (field, woods).
-Suspicious situation from Stoneridge Circle (residence, home).
