Squire Survives
Helena's Austin Squire is still in the competition on the show Sweet Home Alabama. They have eliminated all but two guys from Alabama. Hang in there Austin. We are cheering for you!Link!

HMS Music MachineEven more honors for Helenites. The Helena Middle school performing music machine was in Albertville on Friday night at the Diamond Classic. They beat Oak Mountain and place 7th and Tiara won for soloist. Way to Go!Weekend at EurekaThis weekend Ken was giving tours at the Eureka Mine and letting people collect the historic flower bulbs. I asked Ken how much longer we had access to the site before construction begins. He thought it was really limited but will try to have another tour soon. This young man, Owen, actually found some of those rare miner tags that was numbered and his discovery will make it to the Museum. Lost PetHeather sent me this:
"This little guy survived the April 27th tornado! He was staying with family in the Stonehaven subdivision in Pelham until his family was settled. He escaped from the fence on May 3, 2011. He was last seen at 138 West Stonehaven Circle. Please call ASAP if you see him. He has a small bald spot on his right hip. HES Pancakes
Coming up this month is the world famous Kiwanis and Helena Elementary pancake on Feb.25th. I'll give more details as we get closer but tickets are on sale now.If you can't afford the $5 ticket for the stacks of pancakes and bacon then I have 20 to giveaweay. I might give some to La Reunion for there bingo event this weekend.

Vendors Welcomed
