Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Saia Approved
Norman Saia and Tammy Casteel came to special Helena City Council meeting to request an alcohol license for the new sports grill they will be opening in the old Incahoots building by the waterfalls. The license would be considered a club type, which would require membership cards to purchase alcohol. The council members asked them about about what he would be changing, would he have a pool table (one, I think), and about live music. It was approved by all council members and one was absent. They will next take the application to the State for approval.
Update: I left off two things: 1. They will eventually use the upstairs for special events. So if you need a place for a Christmas party or a wedding reception then they may have an option. 2. I heard from many readers that the Dairy Queen in Alabaster has closed. That is interesting because a few years back they were looking at the old backyard burger location. It would be nice if they came to Helena also.
Roads
Thanks to Rod for catching this. The Hoover city council is scheduled to consider an agreement to "resurfacing and permanent striping at five sites on Shelby County Road 52". Since a lot of Helenites use SC-52 to get to Hwy-31, I thought it was worth updating. Link full article

Vandalism
I had one reader send me this photo of vandalism in their neighborhood. It is always a shame to see vandalism whether it is spray paint or breaking tables at the park. This is beautiful city and everyone needs help make sure that we try to prevent people from trashing things. I wonder how it will cost to take the paint off.
