City Council Update
We are going to have a work session tomorrow (Weds) 4pm. It is an informal meeting where the council meets to talk bluntly about issues in the city. Unlike a City Council Meeting, there are not real votes but if you want to see how the sausage is made in city govt then this is a interesting meeting. There are no microphones, and we talk among ourselves but the public is welcome to listen. Here is the agenda:

1. Discussion of ordinance 593-02
2. Discussion on open comments during council meetings
3. Discussion on non-profits using the rec center
4. Review of the newsletter bids
5. Presentation of Two by Two Rescue
6. Discussion of the street light repair project
7. Discussion of the Shelby One marking plan
8. Update on the budget

HMS Win

Rod Davis emailed me to say that
"Both the HMS 8th grade boys and the girls basketball teams play for the conference championship this week. The boys, who finished the regular season 17-4 and tied with Chelsea for 1st place with an 11-1 conference record, play Tuesday night, 7:30 at the Helena House of Hoops against Calera. If they win they will play Thursday night at 6:45 with the winner of that game advancing to the championship game Friday night at 6:45. All games are at HMS. We invite everyone to please come to the Helena House of Hoops and cheer on your Helena 8th Grade Boys Basketball team to win our first conference championship in basketball.

The girls, who finished the regular season with a 16-2 record and an 11-1 conference record will start play on Thursday night at Chelsea".

Air Soft
I had two Moms in Dearing Downs and Old Cahaba email me about Air Soft. Remember you need goggles and be aware that when you play around the neighborhood that their are other children nearby without protection on.

Found Cat
This Kitty has been hanging around Loading Dock South in Helena. It still a little skittish but he/she has a green and white collar.
Found Dog
Jenny Lovelady has found this in the Helena area in Brealynn Village community. She's a loving dog  but is looking for her home. Jenny posted this on Facebook.
Aerial Footage of Helena
Stacy Cobb when out again in Old Town and used her camera attached to a remote control device and made a great video. Great shot of the falls and the Depot. This would be an awesome commercial of Helena or imagine you had a wedding and they did a panning shot as you took your vows. I would love for her to do the Buck Creek Festival or the first Helena Football game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RN1OU_j3H4
