Birmingham Mountain Radio comes to the FM dial | News
BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- A new radio station just hit the Birmingham airwaves, but it's a familiar station for some listeners. Birmingham Mountain Radio has been online for 2 years. Now they have a home on the FM dial.
A syndication deal with Summit Media Group means Birmingham Mountain Radio can be enjoyed not just online, but on the radio. They started broadcasting Tuesday at noon on 107.3.
Birmingham Mountain Radio is home to shows like The Morning Blend and Reg's Coffee House with host Scott Register. They play local, regional, and national alternative and indie rock music. Birmingham Mountain Radio will continue streaming online; the FM station is just an added bonus.
Scott Register says he is excited listeners will have a new way to enjoy their music.
"I just want to thank the listeners. Today is not about us, it's about them. We're just doing what we always do, but now they're going to have a chance to listen to us in places they haven't been able to listen to us before and to get that much more out of what we do," said Register.
Register says Summit Media does not plan to change the music or format. They like the growth the station has seen in the past two years and they want to build on that momentum.
