Check out any store around town during Valentine's Day and you'll find an array of flowers, chocolates, cards and other gifts ready for your loved ones. But how much money do we spend on the day of love?
According to a Nation Retailer Federation survey, the average person will spend $126.03 this year on Valentine's Day items, up 8.5% from 2011. That’s the highest average in the survey’s 10-year history and they expect total spending to reach $17.5 billion. And considering about 40 percent of those polled said they weren't going to celebrate Valentine's Day, that's quite a feat.
